Summer 2011 Newsletter

Friday, September 2nd, 2011

Hello again and welcome to the Summer 2011 Newsletter!  Summer is starting to wind down, and this edition of the newsletter focuses on a few of the great Dharma events that happened this summer in LA and across North America.  Geshe Michael continues to travel the world, reaching out and inspiring audiences of all ages and faiths.  He is the focus of an article from the Toronto Star, which is reprinted here, as well as a Q and A session between regular contributor Rhondda Smiley and her daughter.  The travels of Mahasukha’s very own Lama Claire and Lama Darin are featured in photos.  The Teaching Spotlight focuses on the Six Perfections as taught by Lama Mira.  This summer, for me personally, has also been a time to focus on renunciation, which I discuss in the letter from the editor.  If you are thinking about what to give up and what to take up, you should know that Lama Marut and Lama Cindy are returning to LA to discuss this aspect of the practice on September 9th and 10th.

As editor of the newsletter I am always happy to take your ideas and contributions.  If you would like to submit something to be included in the Fall issue, please email me at no later than midnight, September 25th, 2011.  On last note:  Unfortunately the newsletter got hit by some spammers, so the comments feature has been disabled for the foreseeable future.  If you have anything you would like to share, you can send that along my way as well.  Thank you and happy reading!
